Where to Buy Paper For Your DIY Wedding Invitations
Now that you have your wedding invitation design, you will need to print them on good quality paper. Cardstocks or copy papers are best for invitations because they are thicker than the ordinary printer papers. You can purchase cardstock from Staples or Office Depot but they only carry a few brands and choice is limited. You may try looking at Michael’s, Robert’s or in one of your local stationary stores. The best places to buy cardstock and specialty papers are from online retailers and paper mills.
One of the advantages of buying paper in brick and mortar stores is that you can feel and see the actual paper and determine if it’s the best kind for the invitations you have in mind. Obviously, you cannot inspect the papers in an online store. A solution for this is to order paper swatchbooks and samples if you want to feel and see the paper prior to ordering. Most retailers sell swatchbooks of all the lines of paper they sell and you can then choose the paper you want to order.
The table below lists all the paper suppliers I could find online and price of their basic 80 lb white cardstock (so you’ll have an idea of their pricing). They are a mix of online retailers and direct paper mills. I have also included links to their sample papers and swatchbooks.
